Cerro Negro Volcano Boarding
About This Tour
Cerro Negro is the youngest volcano in Central America and one of the most active in Nicaragua. It's also home to one of the world's most unique extreme sports: volcano boarding. After a 45-minute hike to the 728-meter summit through a landscape of jet-black volcanic rock, you suit up in a protective jumpsuit, strap on goggles, grab your wooden board, and launch yourself down the slope at speeds up to 50 km/h. The rush of wind, the roar of volcanic gravel, and the sheer absurdity of what you're doing combine into an adrenaline hit you'll be talking about for years. Available as an add-on when visiting León.
